SERVICES AVAILABLE
- Gambling Harm Minimisation
Asian Family Services, contracted by the Ministry of Health, offers free, confidential, and professional support to Asian individuals and families impacted by gambling harm, including gamblers themselves, their family members, and others affected by someone else's gambling, whether in the past or present. Our services include one-on-one counselling, couples counselling, group counselling. All services are free for those experiencing gambling-related harm.
- Asian Helpline
The Asian Helpline 0800 862 342 offers nationwide, free, and confidential services from Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm. Our helpline is available in eight languages: Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, Hindi, and English.
We assist Asian communities in New Zealand by connecting them with the right counselling support. Our trained counsellors offer valuable information and services to individuals facing mental health distress related to gambling harm.
Asian Wellbeing Services
Asian Wellbeing Services (AWS), a division of Asian Family Services, was established in 2016 to provide professional and confidential psychological interventions, along with customised psychoeducation and therapy workshops. Our experienced team of registered professionals offers a broad range of counselling and psychological services. This includes counsellors, art therapists, psychologists, psychotherapists, clinical psychologists, and addiction therapists.
Public Health
We provide public health education, advocacy, and community engagement to raise awareness of the factors impacting mental health, addiction, and other issues affecting wellbeing. Our efforts aim to reduce harm for individuals, families, and communities, with a particular focus on Asian communities.
